Company Overview

Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd (“IPS”) was incorporated on 30 August 1972 under the name of Malayan Traders & Co. Sendirian and subsequently assumed its present name on 30 April 1990. IPS holds a Capital Market Services licence under the Capital Market and Services Act 2007 and is a Participating Organisation of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad and a Trading Participant of Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Berhad.

IPS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Inter-Pacific Capital Sdn Bhd (“IPC”), an investment holding company. IPC is in turn a subsidiary of Berjaya Corporation Berhad, a company listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.


IPS has a paid-up capital of RM250 million and audited shareholders’ funds of RM245 million as at 30 June 2021. Presently there is a combined headcount of approximately 400 staff, dealers and remisiers. IPS is a 1+1 broker with its principal office in Kuala Lumpur, and branch offices in Danau Desa, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, Johor Bahru and Penang.

IPS is in full compliance with all regulatory requirements including capital adequacy ratios, adequacy of bumiputra licenced dealers as well as employment. We are equipped with an efficient front-end trading and back-office system to meet the ever-changing investment landscape and demanding investors’ expectations.

Dato’ Haji Abd Aziz Bin Abu Bakar

Independent Non-Executive Director


Dato’ Haji Abd Aziz, an accounting graduate from Universiti Teknologi MARA, is a leading tax specialist with over 30 years of professional experience. He is the President of the Malaysian Association of Tax Accountants, a member of the Harvard Business School Alumni Club of Malaysia , an Islamic Financial Planner and a member of Financial Planning Association of Malaysia. He is also a member of the Board of Governors at Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Member of Customs Oversight Committee under the Ministry of Finance Malaysia and Member of Economic Advisory Council – Dewan Perdagangan Islam Malaysia.

Dato’ Hj. Abd. Aziz started his career with an International Accounting Firm doing audits, corporate recovery assignments and taxation, including income tax of multinational companies and other local medium and large corporations. Hence he has gain extensive experience in corporate and individual tax planning, tax audits, tax investigation cases, GST/SST, tax compliance and business & financial advisory matters.

He receives regular invitations to participate in dialogues and discussions with the Ministry of Finance, the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia and the Royal Malaysian Customs Department on tax issues, as well as to propose recommendations to assist in resolving direct and indirect tax issues. Apart from that, he regularly appears on local TV networks and Radio stations, local Universities to discuss issues on the economy, direct and indirect tax matters particularly Income Tax, GST, SST and Zakat.

He co-authored the book on Zakat Management and Taxation published by the Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions Malaysia. He is also the Advisor for Buku Bajet & Maklumat Cukai published annually by MATA which analyses Malaysia’s Annual Federal Government Budget tabled in Parliament. He was awarded the ‘Certificate of Merit’ from World Customs Organization for rendering exceptional and distinguished contribution to the International Customs Community.

Encik Abdul Halim Bin Noordin

Independent Non-Executive Director


Encik Abdul Halim Bin Noordin was appointed to the Board of Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd on 1 June 2017. He graduated from Ohio University in the United States in 1981 with a Bachelor in Administration (Hons.) In 1983, he obtained an MBA (Finance and Investment) from the George Washington University, Washington D.C.

He has more than 19 years experience in the fund management, unit trust management and stockbroking industry in companies like Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Berhad (MIMB) and Aminvestment Bank where he was managing the Malaysian Growth Fund, a USD45 million fund meant for foreign investors.

He later joined Mayban Securities as General Manager, Dealing/Business Development in 1997 and was later assigned to Mayban Investment Management Sdn Bhd as Chief Executive/Director until 2002. He was appointed as Head of Investment Services at Inter-Pacific Asset Management Sdn Bhd in September 2005 and held a Fund Manager’s Representative licence.

In 2007, he became the Chief Executive Officer of the Company and launched three unit trust funds. Subsequently, in September 2007, he joined Muara Sinergi (M) Sdn Bhd as a Managing Director until December 2013.

Tan Mun Choy

Executive Director


Mr Tan is the Executive Director of Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd (IPS) and is responsible for the management of the overall operations of IPS. He joined Berjaya Corporation Berhad in 1991 as Manager of Group Internal Audit. In 1993, he was transferred to IPS to be part of its senior management team. He was appointed as the Executive Director in 2013.

Prior to joining Berjaya Group of companies, he was attached with Ernst & Young for about 10 years where he was managing a portfolio of clients involving in a wide range business including trading, manufacturing, construction, property development and various financial services.

Mr Tan is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He is also a Committee Member of the Association of Stockbroking Companies Malaysia.

Pang Poh Ping

Non-Executive Director


He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Malaya in 1985. He has more than 10 years of working experience in professional accounting practice, property administration and marketing.

He has been with Berjaya Group Berhad since 1986 and was transferred to Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd in 1991 as Assistant Manager, Institutional Sales. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd in December 1994.

Lee Teng Teng

Executive Director


She holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from University of London.

She joined Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd as a Credit Control Officer in February 2000 before being promoted to Manager, Customer Services in April 2006 and subsequently to Head, Customer Services in May 2008 before being appointed as the Head, Dealing on 15 November 2016.

Prior to joining Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd, she was attached to Citibank from 1998 to 2000.

Lim Su May

Independent Non-Executive Director


Su May joined Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd as Independent Non-Executive Director on 22 July 2022.

Prior to joining the Board, Su May was appointed by Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia”) as Executive Vice President, Listing Development back in June 2019. She was responsible to enhance the fundraising ecosystem, making it a conducive platform for IPO aspirants and public listed companies to raise the funding required via capital market solutions.  During her tenure there, Su May promoted both primary and secondary listings & fund-raising activities on Bursa Malaysia and the Labuan International Financial Exchange. 

Prior to joining Bursa Malaysia, Su May was heading the Investment Banking Department at MUFG Bank (Malaysia) Berhad where she was responsible to help the Bank to diversify and grow its business in investment banking via debt capital markets products, securitization, project finance, export credit agency financing solutions as well as identifying opportunities of mergers and acquisitions targets to buy-side investors from Japan. 

Su May began her career in investment banking in 1997 and brings with her more than twenty years of investment banking experience having served in senior positions in several Malaysian top financial institutions (including CIMB Investment Bank Berhad and RHB Investment Bank Berhad) as well as a Middle Eastern bank (Alkhair International Islamic Bank Berhad).

Su May holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics), First Class Honours majoring in Economics and Management Studies from University of London.

Prior to joining Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd, she was attached to Citibank from 1998 to 2000.

He holds a professional qualification with the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (UK) and is a Fellow member. He joined Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd as a Management Executive in January 1992 and has more than 26 years stockbroking experience, and has been involved in the management of the daily overall functions of the Operations, Customer services and Finance Department from 1997 to 2011. He was a Company Dealer from June 2011 until he was appointed as Head of Dealing on 6 December 2021.

Prior to joining Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd, he was attached to CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd from 1990 to 1991.

Victor has been an equity analyst for more than 25 years. He started his career with OCBC Securities (Melaka) (now part of RHB Investment Bank) in 1993, covering stocks in the construction, property and building materials sectors. He then joined South Johor Securities (now part of AMInvestment Bank) in 1996 as a Senior Analyst, before moving to Mercury Securities in 1998. In addition to equity research, Victor was also a fund manager with Mercury Asset Management for two-years.

In 2006, he was appointed the Head of Research of Jupiter Securities (now part of CGS-CIMB) to lead a team of analysts in undertaking both fundamental and technical analysis on stocks listed on Bursa Malaysia.

In 2008, Victor joined Standard and Poor’s Equity Research (now CFRA Malaysia) as a Senior Analyst where he conducted fundamental research on stocks listed in Malaysia, Singapore and China, primarily in the construction, property, infrastructure and building materials sectors. He then joined Malacca Securities in 2012 as the Head of Research.

Victor is a graduate from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration and also a Masters of Commerce degree holder from the University of New South Wales in Australia.

She graduated in July 1998 with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Bath, United Kingdom. She started her career as Management Trainee in Jaya Jusco Stores Berhad. In May 1999, she joined IPS as a Management Trainee cum Dealer’s Representative.

She was assigned to be an officer in the IT Department in September 2001 before moving back to be with the Institutional Sales department as a Manager in October 2004. Subsequently, in September 2005, she was promoted to head the Compliance Department.

She holds a professional qualification with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and is an Associate Member of the same professional body. She joined Inter-Pacific Capital Sdn Bhd as Officer, Internal Audit in July 2000 and assumed the position of Internal Auditor in September 2005.

She has more than 5 years of professional experience with public accounting firms in Kuala Lumpur. Subsequently, in January 2009, she was promoted as Head, Internal Audit. She is also Professional Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia.

She holds a professional qualification with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and is an Associate Member of the same professional body. She joined Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd as Officer, Finance in November 1997 before being promoted to Assistant Manager, Finance in October 2002 and subsequently to Finance Manager in January 2008.

In January 2009, she was redesignated as Head, Finance. Prior to joining Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd, she was attached to UOL Factoring Sdn Bhd and Bespile Sdn Bhd from 1995 to 1997.

With over 20 years of working experience in the commercial and investment banking industry, providing corporate finance and corporate advisory services covering IPOs, equity and equity linked funds raising, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions in various industries, which include multi-national corporations, public listed and owner-managed corporations in Malaysia as well as throughout the region.

Sheryn holds a Capital Markets Services Representative Licence in respect of the regulated activity of advising on corporate finance and Eligible Person for the IPO on the LEAP Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, issued under the purview of the Securities Commission Malaysia.

Ms Lee joined Eng Securities Sdn Bhd in 1997. She was responsible for the Accounts and Treasury functions.

Following the merger between Inter-Pacific Securities and Eng Securities Sdn Bhd on 11 March 2006, Eng Securities Sdn Bhd was converted into a branch office and she was designated as Head, Finance, Johor Bahru Branch and subsequently promoted to Head of Branch on 1 January 2013.

Ms Lee holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Australia and is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and the CPA Australia. She was with KPMG Peat Marwick from 1993 to 1996.

She holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree from University of Tasmania, Australia. She started her career in 1990 as a business executive with Billionshire (M) Sdn Bhd.

In 1991, she joined UT Securities Sdn Bhd as a Dealer’s Representative and thereafter in 1995 she was assigned to head the Credit Control Department. She was subsequently appointed to the board of directors of UT Securities Sdn Bhd in 1999 as the Executive Director, Operations.

In March 2005, she was assigned to head the Customer Services Department of Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd upon the merger of UT Securities Sdn Bhd and Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd. In January 2016, she was appointed as Head of Penang Branch.
